I am an agnostic for all philosophical and practical purposes. I have, however, not sealed-off the possibility of finding God/Allah/Yahweh/Brahman/Tao/Ultimate Reality. What’s in a Name? At the same time, I need to be convinced – beyond an iota of doubt – to accept the existence of the Supreme Being as described and delineated in various religions of the world.

I was born and raised as a Muslim in Karachi, Pakistan where I’ve spent a good deal of my life. I’ve recently moved to US, as I continue living my life. I’m trained as a biologist and have dabbled in philosophy for a while.

Feel free to reach out to me, share your experiences and tell me what you think about my blog-posts!

  1. Welcome to the US!
I’m of Lebanese (Christian) descent, although I grew up in the US. You site is very interesting and I look forward to reading more of your thoughts.

I’ve recently deconverted from Christianity, and the reaction of family and friends has been OK so far. I’ve heard of others having a much harder time. How have those close to you reacted to your views?

  2. Thank you, charles for your kind words of support and encouragement.

I had been a closet agnostic since beginning of college, which was back in 2006. However, I’ve finally decided to come out of the closet in order to openly share my lack of belief in certain fundamental Islamic articles of faith.

At the moment, only my wife knows about this blog and she’s cool with it. Even though she’s a believing Muslim, she is quite liberal in her views and believes in the freedom of religion and one’s right to believe or disbelieve whatever one wants.

What I like about the US, or at least the part of US I am in, is that one’s religion or lack of religion doesn’t really matter. I’ve never had individuals come up to me and ask me about my religion and the general tolerance level appears to be much higher than back home.

I might never have openly declared my agnosticism back in Pakistan for “obvious” reasons. I will, however, now use this medium to share my experiences. Thank you once again for your support. 🙂

  3. Hi!
Thanks for requesting access to my site. I decided to shut it down for a while to focus on other things. Not sure if or when I’ll be back. I hope all is well with you!
